The aim of Flagella Dei is to make Europe acquainted again with the nomadic mounted bows during its roaming, of course with a more peaceful purpose. Nowadays, when there is greater demand for looking back and re-evaluating the Middle Ages, which were not so dark, we intend to introduce the nomadic culture and its arms. Traditionally, in Western Europe the blooming medieval ages are remembered and in the Scandinavian states the Viking topic is mentioned. We believe that the nomadic culture met both, alloyed its values, then the Magyars got christened, and stepped on the European way of development at the very end of the X. century.
Today, when one of the aims of our country, Hungary is to become a member of the European Union, in other words to get organically integrated again to the economic and cultural region, to which it has belonged for more than a 1000 years, we would also like to do something, so that the Hungarian traditions and craftsmanship products reach the countries, where people hardly got any information about our country due to the faulty steps of the XX. century.
Since 1999 we take part at West European medieval, renaissance and multi-periodic events, where we present and sell our products. Bows are the most emphasised: we present the development of compound reflex bows. It was a long way from Huns' dreadful bows to the dainty, but more frightening, no longer nomadic, nor mounted, but very effective Ottoman C-formed bow. But we must not forget about the bow culture of the Anglo-Saxons,
their simple, but strong bows were not less dreadful and powerful.
With the bows we sell supplementary equipment, quivers, arrows, historic arrowheads.
We sell our products clothed in period dresses from our own tent, a yurt built on the basis of historic traditions, or from one of our knight pavilions. To our great joy, by means of our excellent products and work we managed to reach success and get invitations year by year to several European countries.
