3.0     Additional Rules

3.1   The LAS Classic will continue despite inclement weather, unless Spooky Nook Sports Complex closes or other calamities arising from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, such as fires, floods, earthquakes, epidemics, wars, governmental actions, civil disturbances, strikes and riots. In the event Friday must be cancelled, all Qualification Scores will be shot on Saturday and only top 8/4 Shoot-Up archers will compete on Sunday. If Saturday must be cancelled, top 8/4 archers from Friday will compete in Shoot-Up on Sunday. If Sunday must be cancelled, awards & payouts will be awarded based on Qualification Scores, Eliminations or Shoot-Ups completed. No refunds will be given due to circumstances beyond our control.

3.2   Listening devices (headphones, ear buds, iPod/mp3 players, etc.) are not permitted while shooting on the line

3.3   Must use a currently manufactured arrow shaft no larger than size 2712 (10.7 mm, .422” diameter)

2.0     Lancaster Archery Classic Divisions

2.1   Divisions follow NFAA/Vegas Rules & Equipment (Open = Freestyle Unlimited) except Barebow

        (however, arrow twirling permitted as long as no arrow touches anyone, is dropped or distracting to others)

2.1a Barebow follows World Archery rules; Males or Females shooting a recurve or longbow with a rest and plunger. String walking is permitted. No clickers or draw checks. No stabilizers are permitted but riser mounted weights are permitted so long as the bow with all legal accessories fits thru a 12.2cm WA/USAA Judge’s ring

2.1b   NFAA, USAA, ASA or IBO membership is not required to participate in the LAS Classic

2.1c Anti-Doping: Anti-Doping: The Lancaster Archery Classic has implemented a doping policy for 2020 and beyond. All Open Pro and Women’s Open Pro participants may be subject to testing in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the World Archery Anti-Doping Rules. Failure to comply with the Anti-Doping rules shall result in disqualification and forfeiture of any cash prizes.

       All archers that finish first in the Pro divisions will be subject to testing in accordance with WADA’s World Anti-Doping Code and the World Archery Anti-Doping Rules. All other participants may be chosen at random. Masters, Senior, Youth and Barebow divisions are exempt. For details, visit worldarchery.org/Clean-Sport. More information to follow.

2.2 Archers may only register and shoot once and in a single division other than the Youth Trophy Tournament

2.3 Pro $ Divisions: Open Pro, Women’s Open Pro, Masters Open Pro; (Registered NFAA Pros and archers who have competed in a Pro Division [excludes semi-pro] in 2018 or 2019 at any ASA or IBO event must register in a Pro Division, others may choose to shoot either Pro or Open[Amateur] division, but not both. Shooting LAS Classic in a Pro Division doesn’t become binding on any other organization or tournament)

2.4 Amateur $ Divisions: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Masters Open, Senior Open, Youth Male Open, Youth Female Open, Bowhunter, Men’s Recurve, Women’s Recurve, Men’s Barebow, Women’s Barebow, Youth Male Recurve, Youth Female Recurve

2.5  Age Defined Divisions: Masters – must be 50 years old by Sunday 1/26/20; Senior – must be 60 years old by Sunday 1/26/20; Youth – must be 11-17 years old with 18th birthday falling on or after Friday 1/24/20 (may be younger than 11 years old, if youth archer has experience in shooting more than 3 tournaments)

2.6  Open Pro, Men’s Barebow, Men’s Recurve, Masters Open Pro, Masters & Senior Open divisions are open to males or females of any age to shot for maximum $$

Program Description

4.0    Qualification Rounds

4.1   60 arrows from 18m at a 40cm target face w/ X's scored as 11's; Possible 660 score

4.2   Compound archers will use a 40cm Vertical 3-Spot target face. Recurve archers may use either a 40cm Single Spot or Vertical 3-Spot face

4.3   Qualification Rounds will have 2 ends of official practice before scoring begins

4.4   Qualification Rounds will be timed 2 minutes (2:00) for 3 shots

4.5   Shots triggered after the buzzer will not score; arrows traveling past dead arrow line cannot be re-shot

4.6   Double scoring, on tablet and paper scorecard, arrow calls are made by the majority of the group

4.6a   Scorecard must be totaled and signed before being turned in as the final scorecard. Scores for top qualifiers will be rechecked & changed if score is incorrect. Rcherz electronic scoring is unofficial

4.6b   Do not touch any arrow or target face until the scores have been called & recorded accurately

4.6c   Archer can request a Judge if he/she disagrees with group call; Judges will rotate every 5 ends, ruling is final

4.6d   Archer must number (1, 2, 3) each spot on their target; Arrows will be shot and recorded in this order

4.6e   Single Spot targets will be scored lowest scoring arrow to highest

4.6f   Ties are decided based on score, # of 11’s, # of 10’s, 1st arrow out of highest scoring ring (longest clean wins)

4.6g   1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th arrows out of the 11 ring will be used to break ties

4.7   Archers are required to replace target face at judge’s discretion; face may not be altered or repaired

4.8   Witnessed bounce outs or witnessed physical interference by another archer will be re-shot

4.9   No bow racks will be provided; archers must use their own floor bow stand or prop bows on v-bars

4.10   Archer may miss up to 2 ends during Qualification Round for equipment failure; arrows will be made up at the end. Practice on practice range or open targets is allowed before resuming with the group on your target

 

5.0     Qualification Results, Cutoffs & Ranking

5.1   Results and ranking for the Qualification Round will be immediately seen on Rcherz digital scoring, then confirmed and announced after the finish of the Friday 4:00 p.m. line.

5.2   Qualification placement cutoffs for Elimination Rounds in each division: Full Top 64 Olympic bracket in Open Pro, Men’s Open and Men’s Barebow; Top 32 Bracket for Masters Open, Women’s Open, Bowhunter, Youth Male Open, and Men’s Recurve; Top 16 Bracket for all other divisions - Women’s Open Pro, Master’s Open Pro, Senior Open, Youth Female Open, Women’s Recurve, Women’s Barebow, Youth Male Recurve & Youth Female Recurve

 

6.0     Elimination Match Format

6.1   Open Pro, Men’s Open & Men’s Barebow

6.1a   Top 64 qualifying scores advance to Eliminations and will shoot a 12 Arrow Olympic Bracket Style Elimination

         (#1 vs #64, #2 vs #63, #17 vs #48, #18 vs #47, etc.)

6.1b   1/32 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 32 archers

6.1c   1/16 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 16 archers

6.1d   1/8 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 8 Shoot-Up Finalists ranked by total score from Qualification, 1/32, 1/16 and 1/8 Eliminations

6.1e   8 Finalists will engage in Shoot-Up Matches with #8 vs #7, Winner vs #6, Winner vs #5, etc.

6.2   Masters Open, Youth Male Open, Women's Open, Bowhunter & Men’s Recurve

6.2a   Top 32 qualifying scores advance to Eliminations and will shoot a 12 Arrow Olympic Bracket Style Elimination

         (#1 vs #32, #2 vs #31, #3 vs #30, #4 vs #29, etc.)

6.2b   1/16 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 16 archers

6.2c   1/8 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 8 archers

6.2d   1/4 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 4 Shoot-Up Finalists ranked by total score from Qualification, 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 Eliminations

6.2e   4 Finalists will engage in Shoot-Up Matches with #4 vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1

6.3   Women's Open Pro, Masters Open Pro, Senior Open, Women’s Recurve, & Youth Female Open, Women’s Barebow, Youth Male Recurve & Youth Female Recurve

6.3a   Top 16 qualifying scores advance to Eliminations and will shoot a 12 Arrow Olympic Bracket Style Elimination

         (#1 vs #16, #2 vs #15, #3 vs #14, #4 vs #13, etc.)

6.3b   1/8 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 8 archers

6.3c   1/4 Elimination Match consists of 4 ends of 3 shots (12 arrows); cutting the field to 4 Shoot-Up Finalists ranked by total score from Qualification, 1/8 and 1/4 Eliminations

6.3d   4 Finalists will engage in Shoot-Up Matches with #4 vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1

7.0     Elimination Match Rules

7.1   All Elimination matches will be timed 2 minutes (2:00) for 3 shots with one end of practice

7.2   Possible score of 132 (12) 11's; double scoring, opponent calls, appeals to Judge

7.3   Ties are decided based on score, highest # of 11’s, 1 Arrow Shoot-Off (2 shots by score, 3rd shot closest to X)

7.4   Shots triggered after buzzer will not score; arrows traveling past dead arrow line cannot be re-shot

7.5   Witnessed bounce outs or witnessed physical interference by another archer will be re-shot

7.6   No provision for equipment or physical failure can be given during any Elimination match

8.0     Shoot-Up Final Format

Shoot-Up matches will feature two archers shooting against one another – arrow for arrow – on stage, in front of the entire crowd, with commentary and live video on the big screen directly above the targets!

8.1   Open Pro, Men’s Open & Men’s Barebow

8.1a   Top 8 archers ranked 1st through 8th by total score from Qualification and Elimination Matches

8.1b   Ranking ties are decided based on total 11s, then by the archer who shot clean longer during qualification

8.1c   #8 vs #7, Winner vs #6, Winner vs #5, Winner vs #4, Winner vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1

8.2   Women's Open Pro, Women's Open, Masters Open Pro, Masters Open, Senior Open, Youth Male Open,

         Youth Female Open, Bowhunter, Men’s Recurve, Women’s Recurve, Women’s Barebow, Youth Male Recurve

          & Youth Female Recurve

8.2a   Top 4 archers ranked 1st through 4th by total score from Qualification and Elimination Matches

8.2b   Ranking ties are decided based on total 11s, then by the archer who shot clean longer during qualification

8.2c   #4 vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1

8.3   Archer’s ranking will move up as Shoot-Up matches are won; can only lose one place if match is lost

9.0     Shoot-Up Final Rules

9.1   All Shoot-Up matches consist of 4 ends of 3 (12) arrows

9.2   All Shoot-Up arrows are timed 30 seconds for each shot with MC commentary

9.3   Archers will remain on the shooting line during their entire Shoot-Up match

9.4   LAS Classic Staff or archer’s advocate will pull arrows after each end and return them

9.5   Free practice for on-deck archer until called into Shoot-Up area for his/her match

9.6   Possible score of 132, (12) 11's; scored by spotter/scorer, Judge’s call is official

9.7   All tie scores broken by 1 Arrow Shoot-Off (2 shots by score, then 3rd shot closest to X)

9.8   Shots triggered after buzzer will not score; arrows traveling beyond dead arrow line cannot be re-shot

9.9   Witnessed bounce outs or witnessed physical interference by another archer will be re-shot

9.10   No provision for equipment or physical failure can be given during any Shoot-Up match

9.11  All archers shooting in the finals must have at least 6 arrows with them to alternate 3 & 3 during finals.

Accomodation Description

1.4   A great variety of food/drink available for purchase at Spooky Nook Sports concession areas in lobby or hallway.

1.5   Free Door Prizes will be drawn after each end of Qualification Rounds on Friday. Total Prize value >$20,000

1.6   Spooky Nook Sports has >2000 parking spaces; $5 Parking Fee per car per day if not a Warehouse Hotel guest

1.7   Free Van Shuttles to the Lancaster Archery Supply Pro Shop for practice, visits & tours

Entry Fees Description

1.2   Early Classic Registration: 60 Arrow Qualification Shooting Times are; Thursday, 1/23 @ 4pm, Friday, 1/24 @ 8am, 12 noon or 4pm.  Discounted Fee of $350 for Open Pro, $250 for Women’s Pro and Masters Pro and $150 for Amateur divisions prior to December 30, 2019.  After December 30, 2019, Registration Fee will be $400 Open Pro, $300 for Women’s Pro and Masters Pro and $175 Amateur. All Registrations include a $25 Non-refundable Lane Reservation Fee. Registration Deadline is Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

1.2a   All cancellations prior to Wednesday, January 15, 2020 will receive a refund minus the $25 Lane Reservation Fee.  No changes or cancellations after Midnight on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Cancellations made after Wednesday, January 15, 2020 will forfeit the Registration Fee and Lane Reservation Fee without exception.

1.3   More Practice: Increased Space to 272 positions on three practice ranges totaling 136 lanes of on-site practice at the Nook; $15 for weekend access when prepaid, $20 when purchased on site, includes target faces.  110 positions on 55 lanes of free off-site practice at Lancaster Archery Supply’s four indoor ranges; 2195-A Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster (13-15 min. drive); Free weekend access from early (7am) until late (midnight).
